Patients rarely come to an eye hospital carrying only a diagnosis. They bring uncertainty, fear and the hope that someone will take responsibility for their vision.

Delhi Eye Care was founded in February 2016 with a simple purpose: to provide specialist eye care of high clinical standards without allowing medicine to become impersonal.

For me, ethical practice begins with an accurate diagnosis and an honest conversation. Not every finding needs treatment; sometimes observation is the right decision. When treatment is required, patients should understand why it is advised, what the alternatives are and what can realistically be expected.

We regard consultation itself as valuable medical care—not as a promotional device. Our responsibility is to give patients the time, expertise and clarity needed to make an informed decision.

Technology has transformed ophthalmology, but technology alone does not make care world-class. Its value depends on the judgement with which it is selected, interpreted and applied to the individual eye.

Our responsibility does not end after a procedure. Planning, counselling, safety, follow-up and accessibility are all parts of the same treatment. Fees and likely costs should be discussed transparently, without hidden charges or pressure.

Medicine cannot promise a particular outcome in every eye. What we can promise is careful preparation, realistic counselling and continued involvement. If treatment or recovery does not proceed as expected, our responsibility becomes greater—not smaller.

Whatever Delhi Eye Care has achieved belongs to the patients who trusted us and to the team that honours that trust every day. As we enter our next decade, we will deepen our capabilities without losing integrity, accessibility or personal accountability.
