I am regularly conducting symposiums and instruction courses in European Retina Society Meetings since last 5-6 years.
I have been the brain child behind starting Delhi Retina Forum way back in 2012-2013 which is now one of the best forums to learn and hone the medical and surgical skills in Retina for Retina surgeons from across the globe. I was fascinated by the amount of surgical skill required to treat eye diseases, especially retinal diseases. The day I saw the retina through my 20D lens after post-graduation, I fell in love with it. The complexity and beauty of the surgeries drew me to this highly competitive field of retinal surgery.
I am passionate about helping my patients to preserve their vision and live their lives to the fullest. I am excited to be a part of this rapidly evolving field and to contribute to the development of new and innovative treatments for retinal diseases
I want to do a lot of work on diabetic retinopathy and have been working on a project called 'Eyebetes' i.e the effect of diabetes on eyes. I am working on educating patients and physicians alike to this dreaded condition. I want to do a lot to bring light to those who are suffering from it and want to prevent it from developing in those who are having diabetes.
Ultimately, my goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of my patients and to help them live their lives to the fullest. I believe that this is the best way to dedicate myself to my work.
In your leisure time, i enjoy sports (such as badminton and cricket), traveling, and painting. This is a great balance of activities that keep you active, engaged, and creative.
Sports are a great way to stay fit and healthy, and they can also be a lot of fun. Badminton and cricket are both popular sports around the world, and they offer a great way to get exercise and socialize with others.

A Retina surgeon specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases and conditions affecting the retina, vitreous, and macula at the back of the eye.
Retina surgeons treat conditions like,1. Retinal detachment, 2. Macular holes, 3. Diabetic retinopathy, 4. Macular degeneration, 5. Retinopathy of prematurity 6. Retinal vein occlusion etc
If you experience sudden vision loss, metamorphopsia (tilting or bending of images), flashes of light, floaters, or notice a shadow over your vision, you should consult a retina specialist immediately.
Retinal detachment occurs when the retina separates from the back of the eye due to the formation of retinal holes or horseshoe-tears. Surgery, such as vitrectomy or scleral buckling, is typically required to reattach the retina.
Most retina surgeries are performed under local anesthesia or with sedation, making the procedure generally painless. Some discomfort may occur during recovery.
Recovery can vary depending on the procedure, but patients usually take a few weeks to regain stable vision. Your retina surgeon will provide detailed post-operative instructions.
The success of retina surgery in restoring vision depends on the severity of the condition and how early it was treated. Early intervention often leads to better outcomes.

Potential risks include infection, increased intraocular pressure, cataracts, or re-detachment of the retina. However, these risks are minimized with advanced surgical techniques and post-operative care.
Some procedures, like macular hole repair or certain retinal detachments, may require face-down positioning for a period after surgery to improve the outcome. But we now have ways and means either to decrease the length of post-operative positioning or do away with it completely in many situations.
Many retina surgeries are covered by insurance. It’s best to check with your insurance provider and the hospital for details about coverage and cashless options.
