Dr. Shashank Rai Gupta is an experienced ophthalmologist and eye surgeon specializing in vitreo-retinal surgery.

He is the Chairman and Founder of Delhi Eye Care, and a Senior Retina Consultant at Apollo Hospitals and Vitreo-Retina Consultant at Sunetra Eye Hospital.
Previously, he served as a Senior Consultant and Head of Vitreo-Retina & Uveitis at Vasan Eye Care Hospitals in New Delhi, and as a Consultant in Vitreo-Retina & Uveitis at Venu Eye Institute & Research Centre.

Dr. Gupta completed his medical and ophthalmology training at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGI) in Rohtak, India. He then pursued a fellowship in retinal surgery at the Aravind Eye Hospital and Research Centre in Madurai, India. He also holds an FRVS from Aravind Eye Hospital.

With over 17 years of experience, Dr. Gupta's core interests include diabetic retinopathy, diabetic vitrectomy, and macular surgeries. He is dedicated to providing high-quality care for a wide range of retinal diseases and is particularly interested in new and emerging treatments.

Dr. Gupta is actively involved in research, and has been invited to deliver orations and keynote addresses at numerous national and international conferences. He has been an instructor, guest lecturer, and faculty member at these events and has regularly conducted symposiums and instruction courses at European Retina Society Meetings for the past 5-6 years. Furthermore, he founded the Delhi Retina Forum in 2012-2013, which has become a prominent platform for retina surgeons worldwide to enhance their medical and surgical skills in retina. He has performed thousands of vitreoretinal surgeries and lasers. Dr. Gupta is passionate about helping his patients preserve their vision and improve their quality of life.
