About Dr. Mukesh Taneja

What kind of eye specialist are you?

I am a Cornea Specialist surgeon.

What are your areas of interest in Cornea specialist?

I am interested in all aspects of cornea research and treatment. However, some of my specific areas of interest include:

  • Keratoconus: A progressive eye disease that causes the cornea to thin and bulge. I am interested in developing new treatments for keratoconus, including minimally invasive and regenerative therapies.

  • Corneal transplantation: A surgical procedure to replace a damaged or diseased cornea with a healthy one. I am interested in developing new techniques to improve the safety and success of corneal transplants.

  • Ocular surface disease: A group of conditions that affect the outer surface of the eye, including the cornea. I am interested in developing new treatments for ocular surface disease, such as dry eye and corneal ulcers.

  • Corneal stem cells: Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that have the potential to develop into different types of cells. I am interested in studying corneal stem cells and how they can be used to repair and regenerate damaged corneas.

  • Where did you study?

I am completed my medical and ophthalmology Post-graduation and Senior Residency from prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College and Guru Nanak Eye Centre, New Delhi, followed by a fellowship in Cornea & Anterior Segment at world-renowned LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad in the year 2001-02.
